This page is written to be clear rather than to sound like a lawyer wrote it. It is not legal advice — if you're unsure whether it fully covers your situation, a local advisor (in Spain, a gestor or abogado familiar with LSSI-CE/RGPD) can confirm the details.

Hosting provider — this site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, United States (netlify.com). Address as published in Netlify's own Terms of Use, §14, last updated March 26, 2026 — reconfirm there before relying on it, since a company's registered address can change.
The only personal data this site actively collects is the email address you give us if you sign up for the newsletter (in exchange for the free "Shore of the Dorahín" oneshot). We don't run analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't collect any data beyond that form.
Like any web host, our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically logs basic technical information for every visit — IP address, browser type, pages requested — for security and operational purposes. We don't access this for marketing.
This site's two typefaces (Jost and Inter Tight) are served from our own server, so your browser makes no request to Google or any other font service to display them.
We use your email address to send you the free oneshot and occasional updates about Heirs to Ruin. The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw that consent at any time — see Section 7.
Your email address is stored and sent through Kit (formerly ConvertKit), the email newsletter platform we use. Kit is based in the United States and acts as our data processor for this purpose, under its own privacy policy and data processing terms.
We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
Two of the services this site depends on are based in the United States, so some of your data leaves the European Economic Area:
These transfers rely on the safeguards each provider offers for EU–US transfers, which in practice means the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses otherwise. [Confirm the current basis in each provider's data processing agreement before publishing — certification status does change.]
We keep your email address for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, it's removed from our active list (Kit may retain a minimal record to honor the unsubscribe itself, as most email platforms do).
Under GDPR, you can ask to access, correct, delete, or export your data, or object to how it's used. The fastest way is to unsubscribe directly from any newsletter email, or write to contact@joust-studio.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).
This site uses one cookie, and only if you ask for it:
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If that ever changes, this policy — and a cookie consent notice — will be updated first. You can delete the language cookie at any time in your browser settings; the site will simply go back to guessing your language.
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
